(A) No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any police officer, firefighter, person authorized by a local authority to direct traffic, or school crossing guard invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic.

(B) The Fire Department officer in command, or any firefighter designated by him or her, may exercise the powers and authority of a police officer in directing traffic at the scene of any fire or where the Fire Department has responded to an emergency call for so long as Fire Department equipment is on the scene in the absence of or in assisting the police.
