(a) Any person who has attained at least eighteen years of age and who has served as a part-time firefighter for the City Fire Department for at least twenty-four months pursuant to Ohio R.C. 124.45, shall be eligible for appointment to the Fire Department as a Fire Driver; provided that he/she successfully completes all necessary civil service and physical examination requirements.

(b) At the time of appointment and for the duration of their employment, all full-time Fire Drivers shall reside within Lorain County or any adjacent county thereto.
