1347.02 NONCONFORMING USE OF BUILDING.
The lawful use of a building existing at the time of the adoption of this Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance 430 AC, passed November 29, 1965), or prior to any future amendments, may be continued although such use does not conform with the provisions hereof or as hereafter amended. Such use may be extended throughout the building, provided no structural alterations, except those required by law or ordinance, are made therein. If no structural alterations are made, a nonconforming use of a building may be changed to a use of the same or more restricted classification according to the provisions of this Zoning Ordinance. Further, whenever a use district shall be hereafter changed, any then existing nonconforming use in the changed district may be continued or changed to a use of a similar or more restricted classification, provided all other regulations governing the new use are complied with. Whenever a nonconforming use of a building has been changed to a more restricted classification or to a conforming use, the use shall not thereafter be changed to a use of a less restricted classification.
Any building, the construction of which has commenced before this Zoning Ordinance becomes effective, may be completed although it does not fully comply with the requirements of this Zoning Ordinance. (Ord. 430 AC. Passed 11-29-65.)
