1309.31 SUBDIVISION.
   "Subdivision" means:
   (a)   The division of any lot, legally existing according to the provisions of this ordinance, into two or more lots, any one of which is less than five acres, for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of transfer of ownership, or having the potential for such transfer.
   (b)   The division or allocation of land for the opening, widening or extension of any street.
   The following actions shall be exempted from the meaning of the term "subdivision" and shall be exempted from regulation according to the provisions of this ordinance.
      (1)   The division or partition of land into lots, each of which comprises five or more acres, and not involving any new street;
      (2)   The sale or exchange of land between adjoining lots, where such a sale or exchange does not create additional lots and results in lots conforming with the ordinances of the City.
