1103.01 DEFINITION.
   As used in this chapter "R" value applies to insulating material and is the rating of a material's ability to resist heat flow. Mathematically it is the reciprocal of the coefficient of thermal transmission "U". Thus: "R" = 1/"U". Therefore, the greater the "R" number, the better the insulating value.
