§ 31.126 COMPENSATION; DUTIES.
   (A)   The City Attorney’s compensation shall be as fixed by ordinance. For such compensation he or she shall perform the following services:
      (1)   Draft all ordinances, specifications, contracts (except special assessments or special taxation), deeds, leases and other legal papers or documents pertaining to the business of the city, as may be required of him or her by the ordinances thereof or by the Mayor and Council or by any committee thereof;
      (2)   Prepare and submit oral and written opinions upon any legal question relating to the business of the city, as may be required of him or her by the Mayor and Council;
      (3)   Give legal advice to the Mayor and Council, and to any committee or member thereof and to any officer of the city, upon any question or matter pertaining to the business of the city;
      (4)   Attend all regular and special meetings of the Mayor and Council, when previously requested by them in writing; and
      (5)   Prepare and submit such annual or other reports in regard to the legal business of the city as is required of him or her by ordinance.
   (B)   The City Attorney shall also be paid out of the city treasury such costs and expenses as may be necessary in the performance of his or her duties as City Attorney.
