§ 117.02 LICENSE CATEGORIES AND FEES.
   (A)   License required; applications; investigation. No person shall maintain or operate a motel, extended stay motel, hotel or extended stay hotel in the city without first obtaining a license therefore. An application for such a license shall state the maximum number of persons and vehicles to be accommodated and shall be accompanied by bathroom and kitchen facility plans.
   (B)   License categories and fees.
      (1)   Motel licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter are divided into the following classes.
         (a)   Class I motel license. The annual fee for a class I motel license is $50, plus $5 for each lodging unit. No guest shall be permitted to stay more than 21 consecutive days on the premises in any room or rooms of the motel, whether it be in the same room or rooms or a combination of rooms.
         (b)   Class II extended stay motel license. The annual fee for a class II extended stay motel license is $500, plus $50 for each lodging unit. Class II extended stay motel licensees are permitted to rent, lease or let accommodations to guests in excess of 21 consecutive days. In the event that such long-term rental or leasing activity shall be in addition to permitting guests to stay in lodging rooms for durations shorter than 21 days, operators must be otherwise duly licensed under the city code and possessing a current, valid class I motel license from the city.
      (2)   Hotel licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter are divided into the following classes:
         (a)   Class I hotel license. The annual fee for a Class I Hotel License is $30, plus $5 for each lodging unit. No guest shall be permitted to stay more than 21 consecutive days on the premises in any room or rooms of the hotel, whether it be in the same room or rooms or a combination of rooms.
         (b)   Class II extended stay hotel/rooming house license. The annual fee for a class II extended stay hotel license is $300, plus $50 for each unit of sleeping accommodations. Class II extended stay hotel licensees are permitted to rent, lease or let accommodations to guests in excess of 21 consecutive days. In the event that such long-term rental or leasing activity shall be in addition to permitting guests to stay in lodging rooms for durations shorter than 21 days, operators must be otherwise duly licensed under the city code and possessing a current, valid class I hotel license from the city.
