§ 110.068 ADMINISTRATION BY ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE; FIRE INSURANCE TAX BUREAU.
   (A)   The Illinois Municipal League is authorized to receive and examine the reports and payments of the 2% Fire Department tax tendered the municipality by foreign fire insurance companies writing business on property located within the municipality.
   (B)   The Illinois Municipal League shall establish a permanent Fire Insurance Tax Bureau in which there shall be kept a permanent, accurate and complete record of all such tax payments received from foreign fire insurance companies and the distribution of the payments to the municipalities. The records shall be open to the inspection of any municipal official during reasonable office hours.
   (C)   The municipality agrees to pay to the Illinois Municipal League, for the cost of maintaining the services of the Fire Insurance Tax Bureau, a fee of 7%, based upon the amount of the 2% Fire Department tax actually collected by the league and received by the municipality. The fee shall be paid the league not later than 30 days after the receipt of tax payments by the municipality. The league is further authorized to carry on necessary correspondence with foreign fire insurance companies owing taxes to the municipality on behalf of the municipality, for the purpose of increasing the tax payments of the insurance companies to the municipality.
