For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CONTRACTOR. A person engaging in the business of any of the building or related trades set forth in this subchapter.
DEVELOPER. A person who has ownership or control over a parcel or tract of land which is or is intended to be the site of two or more buildings and who will, in accordance with city ordinances, improve or develop the land with the installation of any one or more of the following: streets, curbs, sanitary sewers or storm sewers. A DEVELOPER may also be a building contractor, but he or she shall be required to have only the developer’s registration.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR. A person engaging in the business of contracting or hiring one or more trade contractors to perform the service of the trade contractor.
