§ 31.001 NONDISCRIMINATION AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
   The city will comply with Title VI of the United States Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Pub. Law No. 88-352), as amended (42 U.S.C. 2000e et seq.), and the city will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment with the city because of race, creed, color, age, sex or national origin. The city will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, age, sex or national origin. That action shall include, but not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship.
