§ 52.027 PERFORMANCE BOND.
   No permit for a sewer connection, house connection or sewer extension shall be issued by the Mayor and Council unless the person applying therefor or his or her contractor or plumber has filed in the office of the City Clerk a performance bond with a corporate surety thereon in the sum of $10,000 for a sewer connection or house connection and in a sum equal to one and one-half times the estimated cost of the work to be done for a sewer extension. The performance bond shall be approved by the Mayor and Council, conditioned upon the completion of the connection or extension in a proper and workmanlike manner and upon the applicant indemnifying and saving harmless the city for any and all damage to underground utilities or to the water and sewerage system of the city and from any failure to restore any road, ditch, pavement driveway, walk or other property, or portion thereof, damaged during the construction of the connection or extension so as to leave the road, ditch, pavement, driveway, walk or other property or portion thereof in as good a condition as the applicant, contractor or plumber found them.
