§ 50.04 VIOLATIONS; TERMINATION OF WATER SERVICE.
   (A)   The Community Development Director, or his or her designee, shall be and is hereby authorized and directed to terminate, after reasonable notice to the occupant thereof, the water service to any property wherein any connection in violation of the provisions of this subchapter is known to exist, and to take other precautionary measures as he or she may deem necessary to eliminate any danger of contamination of the public water supply distribution mains. Water service to the property shall not be restored until the conditions have been eliminated or corrected in compliance with the provisions of this chapter, and until the applicable reconnection fees paid to the city.
   (B)   Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this section, in the event that the Community Development Director, or his or her designee, determines, in his or her sole discretion, that an imminent danger exists to the city’s water supply or distribution system, the Community Development Director, or his or her designee, may verbally demand immediate disconnection of any cross-connection. This action shall be followed by written notification of the cause of the disconnection.
