The intent and purpose of this subchapter is to ensure that when people need to leave their places of residence to facilitate authorized activities necessary for continuity of social and commercial life, they should at all times wear face coverings in public indoor places, comply with the requirements of the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Executive Orders issued by the Governor of the State of Illinois, the Executive Orders issued by the chief executive officer of the city and adhere to the maximum occupancy and social distancing requirements then in effect to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus to the greatest extent possible. This subchapter should be interpreted to effectuate this intent.
