(A) The Board of Police Commissioners shall make all necessary rules and regulations and shall make all appointments and promotions within the city’s Police Department, pursuant to the provisions contained in ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, §§ 10-2.1-1 et seq.
(B) The disciplinary authority vested in the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners pursuant to ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 10-2.1-17 shall be inapplicable to and unenforceable by the Board of Police Commissioners of the City of Oakbrook Terrace, and all disciplinary action shall be taken by the Chief of Police pursuant to a labor agreement that has been negotiated and entered into with a union representing the members of the city’s Police Department pursuant to the authority of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act (ILCS Ch. 5, Act 315, §§ 1 et seq.) and § 33.003(E) of this code.
