A. Council Determination: The fees for the license required by section 6-2-3 of this chapter shall be determined by city council resolution.
B. Persons Subject To Licensing Requirements; Noncompliance: Any person subject to the licensing requirements in section 6-2-3 of this chapter who fails to obtain an appropriate license shall be subject to the penalties contained in this chapter. The following persons are subject to the aforementioned licensing requirements:
1. A person who becomes the owner, possessor, or keeper of a dog required to be licensed under this chapter who fails to apply for a license within thirty (30) days after he becomes the owner or keeper of the dog;
2. The owner, possessor, or keeper of a dog that has gained permanent canine teeth during any calendar year who shall neglect to procure a license for the dog at the time it gains permanent canine teeth; and
3. A person who becomes a resident of the city who is the owner, possessor or keeper of a dog required to be licensed under this chapter who fails to apply for a license within thirty (30) days after he/she becomes a resident. (Ord. 630-10, 1-11-2011)
