(a) Fires.
(1) Attends all fire calls as is possible;
(2) Primary responsibility is the town limits of Nutter Fort; and
(3) Oversees and give directions to firefighters and mutual aid departments in case of fire or emergency.
(b) Equipment.
(1) Maintains vehicle maintenance;
(2) Maintains proper maintenance records of same;
(3) Runs hose test once a year;
(4) Maintains air packs, nozzles, pumps, power plants and all other equipment; and
(5) Provides weekly vehicle check lists.
(c) Maintenance. Provides and maintains maintenance on the following equipment:
(1) Hose washer and dryer;
(2) Cascade system;
(3) Alarm system;
(4) Radio equipment;
(5) Foam systems;
(6) First aid and EMS equipment; and
(7) All other fire and rescue related equipment.
(d) Building.
(1) Maintains and cleans building and truck bays; and
(2) Upkeep on general building maintenance.
(e) Grounds.
(1) Mows grass and keeps surrounding area clean and neat at all times; and
(2) Maintain a clean environment at all times and provides snow removal around town building when feasible.
(f) Training.
(1) Coordinates training programs for firefighters;
(2) Plans and implements fire drills and proper fire training; and
(3) Maintains accurate records of all training provided.
(g) Recordkeeping. Maintains accurate recordkeeping on:
(1) Cascade system;
(2) SCBAs;
(3) Air cylinders;
(4) Trucks;
(5) Annual pump test;
(6) Hose test;
(7) Fire hydrants; and
(8) Ladder truck.
(h) State Fire Marshal’s office reports.
(1) Fires report on each alarm; and
(2) Files quarterly summary to Fire Marshal’s office.
(i) State Farm Incident Reports NFIRS. Files report on each alarm;
(j) Building inspections.
(1) Provides periodic inspections:
(a) Schools; and
(b) Commercial property.
(2) Smoke detector ordinance.
(k) Fire prevention.
(1) Coordinates program for schools;
(2) Coordinates programs for churches, clubs and the like; and
(3) Coordinates tours of Fire Department for schools including kindergarten.
(l) Laws pertaining to the Fire Department.
(1) Keeps abreast of all laws pertaining to the Fire Department;
(2) Attends conventions;
(3) Attends seminars;
(4) Attends State Fire Marshal’s meetings; and
(5) Attends County Fire Marshal’s meetings.
(m) Fire hydrants.
(1) Coordinate with Water Department on yearly testing of hydrants;
(2) Maintain grass and weeds around fire hydrants;
(3) Maintain painting as necessary; and
(4) Maintain maintenance as necessary.
(n) Burning permits.
(1) Issues permits; and
(2) Inspects burning sites for safe conditions.
(n) Town Council meetings. Attends all Council meetings to keep abreast of information for Fire Department and any related activities or problems that may arise between the town and Fire Department.
(o) Town use of fire equipment.
(1) Provide/assign driver as needed; and
(2) Provide aid as needed.
