After complying with the provisions of Section 767.03, every applicant shall be examined by the Director of Public Safety or an inspector or deputy under his direction as to his knowledge of the provisions governing the operation of taxicabs and autos for hire, and as to his knowledge of the City and the traffic regulations. The applicant shall produce evidence that he has had at least six months experience in operating a motor vehicle and shall, if required, demonstrate his ability. Any taxicab driver who submits a current license from the City of Cincinnati shall be exempted from undergoing an independent examination.
