337.30 NOISE EMISSION CONTROL.
   (a)   No person shall operate a motor vehicle, within the City other than a motorcycle or truck as defined by this Traffic Code, which creates a noise or sound pressure level which exceeds 76 dB(A).
   (b)   No person shall operate a motorcycle or truck as defined by this Traffic Code, within the City, which creates a noise or sound pressure level which exceeds 82 dB(A).
   (c)   No person shall operate a motor vehicle within the City which creates an unreasonable loudness or noise for the circumstances then and there existing. This subsection does not apply to the operation of an all purpose vehicle or snowmobile, which is governed by Section 375.08.
   (d)   No person shall operate a motor vehicle within the City which creates a noise or sound pressure level which exceeds 90 dB(A) when measured twenty inches from the rear of the exhaust pipe at a forty-five degree angle to the center of such pipe.
   (e)   Test procedures to determine whether maximum noise emitted by motor vehicles in use meet the noise limits stated shall be in substantial conformity with Standards and Recommended Practice established by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc., including, SAE Standard J986; SAE Standard J331; Recommended Practice J366; Recommended Practice J184; and such other and further standards as may be propounded by such Society.

   (f)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
