159.08 SUPERVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF FACILITIES.

   (a)   The authority to supervise and maintain the operations of all playgrounds, playfields, gymnasiums, public baths, stations of public comfort, swimming pools, or indoor recreation centers is hereby vested in the Superintendent of the Park and Recreation Department.

   (b)   The Superintendent of the Park and Recreation Department shall have the authority to equip, operate, and maintain all playgrounds, playfields, gymnasiums, public baths, stations of public comfort, swimming pools or indoor recreation centers subject to the provisions of Section 159.07.

   (c)   The Board of Park Commissioners shall also for the purposes mentioned in this section, recommend to the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Norwalk that the City employ play leaders, recreation directors, supervisors, or any other officer or employee as he deems proper and necessary pursuant to Section 159.07.

   (d)   The Board of Park Commissioners shall have the authority to advise the Superintendent as to any of the powers and duties conferred upon said Superintendent by this section. (Ord. 94-34. Passed 4-19-94.)
