SECTION 2.04. ACTING MAYOR.

By letter filed with the City Clerk, the Mayor shall designate a qualified City Department Head to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the office of Mayor during his/her temporary absence or disability, or until a vacancy in the office is filled.

In the event no letter has been filed or the designated person has become ineligible, Council shall appoint an acting Mayor by an affirmative vote of four (4) members.
