945.01 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter, the following words shall be defined as follows:
   (a)   “Refuse” means all kitchen waste and general household trash and unless otherwise provided for by law or the Service/Safety Director, does not include grass clippings, weeds, bushes, brush clippings, trees, tree branches, leaves, or tree branch clippings, earth, sod, rocks, concrete, refuse from construction or remodeling, lumber, motor vehicle parts, tires, any liquids, or metal appliances, sofas, tables, or other similar furniture.
   (b)   “Garbage can” means a tapered container designed for holding refuse having a maximum volume of thirty gallons, weighing not more than forty pounds when filled with refuse and having a secure lid and being in good condition. It does not include barrels of any kind.
   (c)   “Bag” means a standard polyvinyl type minimum two mill thickness container, having a maximum volume of thirty gallons and weighing no more than forty pounds when filled with refuse.
   (d)   “Resident’ means a homeowner, tenant or other person occupying or having the right to possession and control of a dwelling.
   (e)   “Garbage” includes refuse, yard waste and brush.
   (f)   “Yard wastes” means leaves, grass, weeds, branches less than four feet in length, small twigs, brush and other vegetation capable of being contained in a can supplied by a resident pursuant to Section 945.02(b). Yard waste does not include any tree or part of a tree with an aggregate weight of greater than forty pounds.
   (g)   “Garbage collection services” means the collection, storage, and disposal of all refuse, yard waste and brush and all services or work necessarily related thereto.
   (h)   “General household trash” includes but is not limited to ashes, discarded toys, discarded clothing and similar materials and goods.
   (i)   “Recyclable” means plastic or glass bottles or jars, newspaper, magazines and like materials, aluminum or steel cans.
   (j)   “Brush bundle” means a bundle of brush and branch clippings securely bound, not exceeding four feet in length and not exceeding forty pounds.
