§ 35.17 ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF.

   (A)   There is hereby created the position of Assistant Fire Chief.

   (B)   Duties of this position shall be as set forth in Chapter 36, App. A, § 4.

   (C)   The Assistant Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor. In order to qualify for appointment, the candidate shall:

      (1)   Be able to read and write the English language intelligently;

      (2)   Be moral, sober, and sagacious;

      (3)   Not have been convicted of a felony; and

      (4)   Be at least 18 years of age.

   (D)   Compensation for this position shall be set by City Council as provided in the city’s compensation plan.

   (E)   The personnel rules and regulations of the city shall apply to this position.
