§ 90.07 FOWL RUNNING AT LARGE.
   (A)   Fowl running at large prohibited. No person shall permit any fowl owned by him or her or under his or her control or in his or her custody, to run at large within the city limits.
   (B)   Impoundment. Any peace officer shall impound any fowl found running at large in the city and shall place same in a protected area set aside by the city. The owner or bailee of the fowl shall pay to the city for each fowl impounded, $1 and the cost of feeding and taking care of the fowl.
   (C)   Notice to owner. If the owner of the fowl is known, notice in writing of the confinement shall be given, and the owner shall forthwith recover the fowl, subject to payment of fines and costs. If the owner fails to claim the fowl within three days after notice and pay all fines and costs, or if the owner is unknown, the city may cause the fowl to be destroyed, or dispose of it in any other manner it may choose. If it is determined by the peace officer that the impounded fowl is wild, the fowl may be destroyed immediately.
   (D)   Damages. If any damages are committed by the fowl permitted to run at large, the owner or bailee of the fowl shall be liable for the amount of damages and court costs in the event of legal action.
