1610.01 FIRE PREVENTION CODE DEFINED.
   As used in this Part Sixteen of these Codified Ordinances, the term "Fire Prevention Code" means the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Norton, being Part Sixteen of these Codified Ordinances, including the provisions of the Ohio Fire Code, as adopted by reference in Section 1630.01.
1610.02 COMPLIANCE REQUIRED.
   No person shall knowingly violate any provision of this Fire Prevention Code or any order made pursuant to it.

1610.03 MODIFICATIONS.
   The Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention is hereby authorized to modify any of the provisions of this Fire Prevention Code upon application in writing by an owner or lessee, or his or her duly authorized agent, when there are practical difficulties in the way of carrying out the strict letter of this Fire Prevention Code, provided that the spirit of this Fire Prevention Code shall be observed, public safety secured and substantial justice done. The particulars of such modification, when granted or allowed, and the decision of the Chief of the Bureau thereon, shall be entered upon the records of the Division of Fire and Emergency Medical Services and a signed copy shall be furnished to the applicant.

1610.04 CONFLICTS OF LAWS.
   Whenever a provision of the Ohio Fire Code, as adopted in Section 1630.01, conflicts with another provision of this Fire Prevention Code, the more restrictive provision shall apply.

1610.05 DEFINITIONS.
   Words and terms used in this Fire Prevention Code shall have the meanings given in the Ohio Fire Code, unless otherwise stated in this Fire Prevention Code.
