636.09 ABUSE OF FAMILY.

(a) No person shall abuse or threaten his family or household or any member thereof. For the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this section, it shall be lawful for a police officer to enter any house or other building to effect the arrest of any person violating the same.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
