1428.04 EXTERIOR PROPERTY AREAS.
   (a)   Sanitation. All exterior property and premises shall be maintained free from an unreasonable accumulation of waste, trash, garbage, and rubbish. The occupant shall keep that part of the exterior property that occupant occupies in a clean and sanitary condition.
      (1)   Firewood may be stored on premise solely for occupants use and shall be cut, split, and stacked neatly not to exceed five feet in height.
   (b)   Grading and Drainage. All premises shall be graded and maintained to prevent the erosion of soil and to prevent the accumulation of stagnant water on premises or within any structure.
      (1)   Approved retention areas, reservoirs and ditches are exempt.
   (c)   Sidewalks, Driveways, and Parking. All sidewalks, walkways, stairs, driveways, parking spaces and similar areas shall be kept in a proper state of repair and maintained free from hazardous conditions and weeds.
      (1)   Paved non-residential parking areas shall maintain pavement in good condition free of potholes or other hazards. Striping shall not be faded and visibly delineate lanes of travel, parking spaces, loading zones and fire lanes.
   (d)   Tall Grass and Weeds. All premises shall be maintained free of weeds. All grass and weeds shall not grow eight inches or more in accordance with Chapter 674 , Weeds and Litter of the Northwood Code of Ordinances.
   (e)   Landscaping and Trees. Lawns, landscape material, and trees shall be maintained so as not to constitute a blighting or deteriorating effect. Dead or dying landscaping shall be removed and replaced and trees shall be properly pruned and trimmed.
      (1)   Dead and dying trees, limbs, and landscape material which, by reason of rotting or storm damage that constitute a hazard to persons in the vicinity thereof shall be removed.
   (f)   Vermin and Pests. All structures and exterior property shall be kept free from animal harborage and infestation. Where rodents or insects are found, they shall be promptly exterminated by approved processes which will not be injurious to human health.
   (g)   Swimming Pools. Swimming pools shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, and in good repair and shall be free from pests or other infestations.
