1428.03 DEFINITIONS.

   Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following rules and terms shall, for the purposes of this code, have the meanings in this chapter.

   (a)   Terms Defined in Other Codes. Where terms are not defined in this chapter, Section 1240.06 , Definitions or Section 1284.01 , Abatement of Nuisances of the Northwood Code of Ordinances shall apply.

   (b)   Terms Not Defined. Where terms are not defined, such terms shall have the same meaning as terms in the Ohio Building Code or the ordinarily accepted meaning related to context.

   (c)   Definitions.

      (1)   “Deterioration.” To weaken, disintegrate, corrode, rust, crack, peel or decay and lose effectiveness.

      (2)   “Exterior property.” The open space of the premises and on adjoining property under the same control as owner(s) and operator(s) of said premises.

      (3)   “Infestation.” The presence, within or contiguous to, a structure or premises of insects, rodents, or other pests.

      (4)   “Occupant.” Any individual living in or sleeping in a building or having possession of a space within a building.

      (5)   “Code Enforcement Officer.” The official(s) designated by the administration for enforcement of this chapter and this code and/or the designated zoning inspector.
