(a) The compensation of a member of the Volunteer Fire Department shall be based on a point system as follows, one point shall be equivalent to one hour of the current rate of pay per the payroll ordinance.

(b) Those responding to emergency calls shall receive one point for the first two hours of active duty per call, and, in addition, one point for every one hour or fraction thereof after the first two hours of each call.
(c) Those attending scheduled training sessions and department related duties shall receive one point for each hour or fraction thereof for such training.

(d) The compensation for fire-fighter members shall be paid twelve times annually, on a monthly basis. Payrolls will be paid during the subsequent month from which earned.
Monthly payrolls shall be submitted by the Fire Chief to the Finance and Revenue Department no later than the tenth day of the following month in which compensation was earned. Upon receipt of payroll time information from the Fire Chief, the Finance and Revenue Department will process payroll with a paycheck date of between the eleventh day and the twenty-fifth day of each month.
The effective date of this subsection shall be for any and all earned compensation occurring on or after April 1, 1997.
