(a) The Chief of Police is hereby authorized, on a case by case basis, to offer rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons damaging and/or maliciously destroying City owned property located in the City.
(b) The maximum reward shall be two hundred dollars ($200.00) for any misdemeanor and five hundred dollars ($500.00) for any felony for which information is furnished to the Police Department, enabling the Department to identify, arrest and obtain a conviction for vandalism or malicious destruction of City property.
(c) The Chief of Police shall advertise a reward on any case that warrants a reward and no reward shall be paid for any offense unless and until the Chief has advertised for the same.
