242.04 GENERAL DUTIES.
   The Zoning Inspector shall perform the following duties:
   (a)   Process Zoning Permits. Accept applications, issue zoning permits and maintain file records and reports;
   (b)   Review Rezoning Requests and Special Use Permits. Review and process requests for rezoning and special use permits and other changes in the zoning law, and make recommendations to the Planning Commission;
   (c)   Review Variances. Review requests for variances and make recommendations concerning them to the Board of Zoning Appeals;
   (d)   Review Plats. Review and process proposed preliminary drawings and plats as defined in the Subdivision Regulations, and make recommendations concerning them to the Planning Commission. Following Planning Commission approval, follow up with the developer on compliance of escrow accounts, bonds posted and plat specifications, etc.;
   (e)   Inspect and Enforce Ordinances. Make inspections under the Housing and Zoning Codes and Subdivision Regulations, and serve as enforcement officer;
   (f)   Recommend Proposed Changes. Review and make recommendations as to proposed changes in the Housing and Zoning Codes and Subdivision Regulations;
   (g)   Act as Advisor. Act as technical advisor to the Planning Commission, Housing Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals in matters pertaining to housing, platting, planning and zoning;
   (h)   Attend Meetings. Attend all meetings of the Planning Commission, Housing Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, as well as meetings with neighborhood groups and civic groups, to answer questions and provide information about the enforcement of zoning;
   (i)   Define Community Objectives. Develop and recommend long-range goals and objectives for the community; and
   (j)   Perform Other Activities. Perform all other related activities necessary to promote the implementation of the Planning and Zoning Code.
