(a) When installing a new driveway over an existing storm swale or ditch between the curb line or edge of pavement and private line the owner shall install a driveway culvert to all the storm water to flow uninterrupted under the driveway.
(b) Sizing and grading of the driveway culver shall be determined by the City Service Director and/or City Engineer.
(c) Material specifications for the driveway culver shall be as follows:
(1) Conduit size ten inches in diameter or greater shall be reinforced concrete conduit meeting the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) requirement of item 706.02 with 706.11 joints.
(2) Conduit size eight inches in diameter or less with a minimum cover over the top of pipe to the bottom of the driveway subgrade of twelve inches can be polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduit meeting ODOT requirement of item 707.45 with ASTMD 3212 joints. If minimum cover over the top of pip is less than twelve inches, the conduit shall meet the requirements of Section 102.26(c)(1).
(d) The City will provide the construction staking to install the driveway culvert. The cost of the construction staking shall be the responsibility of the individual property owner and reimbursed back to the City.
