11-4-5: PUBLIC UTILITIES:
All utility lines for telephone and electric service shall be placed underground entirely throughout a subdivided area except where the subdivision or subdivided area includes less than thirty percent (30%) of a block and no underground utilities shall be required. Such conduits or cables shall be placed within easements or dedicated public ways in a manner which will not conflict with other underground services. Further, all transformer boxes shall be located so as not to be unsightly or hazardous to the public. The utility lines shall be parallel to and not less than twelve inches (12") from the property lines. Corner markers, as required in Section 11-4-6 of this Chapter, shall not be disturbed by the installation of utility lines. (1976 Code §25-3-5)
