A. City Employees To Report Defects: Every City officer or employee becoming cognizant of any defect in any street, alley or sidewalk or any obstruction thereof, shall report the same to the Superintendent of Public Works or other proper City officers as soon as possible.
B. Pavement Repairs: All public street, alley and sidewalk pavements shall be kept in good repair. Such repair work, whether done by the City or by the abutting owner, shall be under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works. (Ord. O-23-79, 11-20-1979; amd. Ord. C. Restoration Of Public Ways And Parkways: Any person constructing, laying or breaking any sidewalk shall, upon completion thereof, remove any and all materials and debris from the public ways and parkways and shall restore the same to the condition in which it was prior to the commencement of work.
D. Maintenance Of Sidewalks And Walkways: All sidewalks on areas open to the public on private property shall be maintained in a safe condition. Any sidewalk on private property open to the general public for use or business purposes shall be maintained by the owner and occupant of the premises in a safe condition. Any such sidewalk containing cracks, uneven areas, holes or other dangerous conditions is hereby declared to be a nuisance, and the owner and the occupant shall be responsible for correcting the nuisance.
