A. There shall be created within the police department of the city the exempt position of shift commander. (Ord. O-28-95, 6-5-1995; amd. Ord. O-06-2014, 3-3-2014)
B. The number of commanders appointed, from time to time, shall be from the current full time police personnel of the city.
C. The duties and responsibilities of those commanders appointed shall have such administrative and supervisory functions as may be from time to time, necessary. (Ord. O-28-95, 6-5-1995)
D. The position of shift commander shall be appointed by the chief of police. (Ord. O-28-95, 6-5-1995; amd. Ord. O-06-2014, 3-3-2014)
E. The position of shift commander shall be paid the same as and an amount equal to that of sergeant of police. (Ord. O-28-95, 6-5-1995)
