The Northlake Youth Commission and Advisory Commission are hereby created to promote youth activities and development in the City.
A. The Northlake Youth Commission shall consist of five (5) members and a chairperson appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. One of the five (5) members shall be Miss Northlake whose tenure on the Commission shall be coterminous with her respective term as Miss Northlake. The initial appointees shall serve a term expiring May 1, 1999. Thereafter, Commission members shall serve a term of two (2) years expiring on May 1 of each odd-numbered year. Commission members shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified.
B. The Advisory Commission shall consist of five (5) Northlake residents between the ages of thirteen (13) through eighteen (18) to be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The initial appointees shall serve a term expiring May 1, 2001. Thereafter, Commission members shall serve a term of two (2) years expiring on May 2 of each odd-numbered year. Advisory Commission members shall serve until the successors are appointed and qualified. (Ord. O-01-99, 2-1-1999)
