505.15 HOUSING OF ANIMALS; PROXIMITY TO DWELLINGS.
   (a)   Subject to subsections (b) and (c) hereof, the housing of animals for agricultural purposes is prohibited on parcels of real estate consisting of less than one acre.
   (b)   Household pets, such as dogs, cats and birds, may be housed on parcels of real estate consisting of less than one acre.

   (c)   The housing, raising and caring of agricultural, farm and fur bearing animals, animal kennels, pigeons or other domestic animals or birds, excepting therefrom grazing animals, will be allowed on parcels of real estate consisting of one acre or more. The housing, raising and caring of grazing animals will require a minimum of five (5) acres of grazing land for one grazing animal and an additional one (1) acre of grazing land for each additional grazing animal. The building or enclosure housing such animals or birds shall be located four hundred (400) feet or more from any structure, house or building used for human habitation, but not including any structure, house or building of said property owner housing said animals or birds. Such building or enclosure housing such animals or birds shall be free of offensive odor and shall be maintained in a sanitary and safe condition. (Ord. O-09-059. Passed 12-7-09.)
   (d)   All fencing of grazing/pasture land borders shall be maintained in good condition and shall be located a minimum of one hundred feet (100') from any residential dwellings other than the dwelling of the owner of said grazing/pasture land.

   (e)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
