1121.10 STORM SEWERS, MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS.
   (a)    Where curbs are installed, storm sewers with curb inlets will be required in accordance with the standard drawings included with these specifications. Where there are no curbs and storm sewers are used in roadside ditches, there shall be a swale or depression over the sewer draining to inlet basins spaced not more than 150 feet apart. At all driveways there shall be an inlet basin on the high side of the drive pipe so that water does not flow across the drive. Storm sewers or other approved means of erosion control shall be installed in ditches or creeks running through subdivisions where the water flow exceeds six feet per second.
   (b)    Storm sewer manholes shall be not more than 300 feet apart. Vitrified sewer pipe or concrete pipe will be satisfactory for storm sewers. Vitrified sewer pipe shall have a minimum earth cover of one foot. The minimum diameter of storm sewers shall be twelve inches. The installation of storm sewers, manholes, inlets and catch basins shall conform to construction drawings approved by the Street Commissioner or to the standard drawings included in these specifications. All storm sewers shall empty into drainage courses shown on approved drainage drawings or as approved by the Street Commissioner.
