§ 50.041 SPECIFIC PROHIBITIONS.
   No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged any of the following described waters or wastes to any public sewers:
   (A)   A pollutant from any source of nondomestic wastewaters that could pass through or cause interference with the operation or performance of the Wastewater Facilities.
   (B)   Pollutants which create a fire or explosive hazard in the Wastewater Facilities, including, but not limited to, waste streams with a closed-cup flashpoint of less than 140°F (60°C) using the test methods specified in 40 CFR 261.21, including but not limited to, any gasoline, benzene, naphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable or explosive liquid, solid, or gas.
   (C)   Wastewater causing two readings on an explosion hazard meter at the point of discharge into the Wastewater Facilities, or at any point in the Wastewater Facilities, of more than 10% or any single reading over 25% of the lower explosive limit.
   (D)   Pollutants containing toxic or poisonous solids, liquids, fumes, or gases within the sewer collection system or Wastewater Facilities in sufficient quantity, either singly or by interaction with other wastes, to injure or interfere with any waste treatment process, constitute a hazard to humans or animals, create a public nuisance, cause acute worker health and safety problems, or create any hazard in the receiving waters of the WWTP.
   (E)   Wastewater having a temperature that could inhibit biological activity in the Wastewater Facilities resulting in interference or damage to the Wastewater Facilities, or wastewater that exceeds a temperature of 104°F (or 40°C) at the Wastewater Facilities unless the commissioner, upon request of the Wastewater Facilities, approves the alternate temperature limits.
   (F)   Any waters or wastes having a pH lower than 5.5 or higher than 11.5 or having any other corrosive property capable of causing damage or hazard to structures, equipment, the Wastewater Facilities and personnel of the wastewater works.
   (G)   Solid or viscous substances in quantities or of a size capable of causing obstruction to the flow in sewers, or other interference with the proper operation of the Wastewater Facilities such as, but not limited to, ashes, cinders, sand, mud, straw, shavings, metal, glass, rags, feathers, tar, plastics, wood, unground garbage, whole blood, paunch manure, hair and fleshings, entrails and paper dishes, cups, etc., either whole or ground by garbage grinders.
   (H)   Pollutants, including oxygen-demanding pollutants (BOD, and the like), released in a discharge at a flow rate and/or pollutant concentration which, either singly or by interaction with other pollutants, will cause interference with the Wastewater Facilities; or any wastewater treatment or sludge process, which will constitute a hazard to humans or animals;
   (I)   Fats, oils and grease (FOG) and solid or viscous substances in amounts which will cause
obstruction of the flow in the Wastewater Facilities resulting in interference.
   (J)   Petroleum oil, nonbiodegradable cutting oil, used motor vehicle anti-freeze, motor oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, oil-based paint, paint thinners or products of mineral oil origin, in amounts that will cause interference or pass through.
   (K)   Wastewater which imparts color which cannot be removed by the treatment process, which consequently imparts color to the WWTP's effluent, thereby violating the Utilities wastewater discharge permit.
   (L)   Any waters or wastes containing odor-producing substances exceeding limits which may be established by the Utility Director.
   (M)   Wastewater containing any radioactive wastes or isotopes except in compliance with applicable IDEM or Federal regulations and only after written notification of the Utility Director.
   (N)   Sludges, screenings, or other residues from the pretreatment of industrial wastes.
   (O)   Medical wastes, except as specifically authorized by the Utility Director or IDEM in a discharge permit.
   (P)   Wastewater causing, alone or in conjunction with other sources, the WWTP's effluent to fail a toxicity test.
   (Q)   Detergents, surfactants, surface-active agents, or other substances which may cause excessive foaming in the Wastewater Facilities;
   (R)   Trucked or hauled pollutants, except per § 50.043.
   (S)   Pollutants, substances, or wastewater prohibited by this section shall not be processed or stored in such a manner that they could be discharged to the Wastewater Facilities.
