(A) Town Council members upon first election or appointment to the Council and upon reelection or reappointment shall, within 12 months of election or appointment, reelection or reappointment, attend an ethics education session of not less than two 60-minute hour duration. Such sessions shall cover laws and principals that govern conflicts of interest and ethical standards of conduct at local government levels.
(B) The Town Clerk shall maintain a record verifying receipt of the required ethics education by each Council member.
