In order to perform its traffic safety functions, the Town Police Department is routinely required to use wrecker services to tow disabled, seized, wrecked and abandoned motor vehicles. The purpose of this policy is to regulate on-call wrecker service providers who have been approved for inclusion on the rotation wrecker list so that the public, and qualified wrecker services, are treated in a uniform, fair and reasonable manner.
