The duties of the Reserve Police Officer Division shall be to assist the full-time police officers within the Town Police Department with the primary functions, objectives and operations of the Department and shall be entitled to all powers of arrest, privileges and immunities afforded by law to full-time officers. The Chief of Police shall assign specific duties to the reserve officers. The Reserve Police Officer Division shall adhere to the Code of Ethics established within the Town Police Department and shall be subject to same standard operating procedures established within the Town Police Department. The reserve police officer shall volunteer a minimum of 12 hours a month; however, the Chief of Police at his or her discretion may excuse a reserve officer from the hourly monthly requirement for reasons he or she may deem appropriate.
