Each day on which any violation of this chapter shall continue shall constitute a separate and distinct violation and offense. Each offense shall be punishable by a fine of $200 or imprisonment for 30 days or both, and shall subject the offender to a civil penalty of $500 per day to be collected by the town in a civil action if the offender does not pay the civil penalty within ten days of receiving a notice of the levy of the penalty by the Town Council. In addition, this chapter may be enforced by injunction or abatement by an action brought in the General Court of Justice as provided by G.S. § 160A-175.
