SECTION 6 . Election and qualifications of mayor, councilmen and recorder generally.

   There shall be elected by the qualified voters of said city, as hereinafter provided, a mayor, six councilmen and a recorder, who at the time of their election shall be residents in said City and be entitled to vote for the members of the common council of said city as residents and legal voters therein.
