For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
(a) Council. The chief legislative body of the city.
(b) Plat. Includes plat, plan, map, plot or replot, whether recorded or filed separately or attached to a deed or other instrument.
(c) Street. Includes streets, avenues, boulevards, roads, lanes, alleys and other ways.
(d) Subdivision. The division of a tract or parcel of land into two or more lots, sites or subdivisions for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of sale or building development, including resubdivision. When appropriate to the context, "subdivision" relates to the process of subdividing or to the land or area subdivided. (2-20-56)
