957.01 NEW LONDON MEMORIAL COMMITTEE.
   (a)   There shall be a New London Memorial Committee, consisting of one member, designated by the American Legion, one member currently sitting on Village Council and designated by the Council; and one resident designated by the Mayor. Appointments shall be for a period of two years from the date of appointment.
   (b)   The Memorial Committee shall serve as an advisory committee which shall establish and maintain guidelines for the New London Veterans Memorial, to appropriately honor New London area veterans who died while in military service and employees and volunteers of the New London safety forces who died in the line of duty. Guidelines adopted by the Memorial Committee shall be filed with the Village Fiscal Officer. The Memorial Committee shall generally monitor the application of such guidelines through the review and approval of names of individuals to be included on existing monument structures, as well as the installation of pavers and bricks within the surrounding grounds.
   (c)   The Memorial Committee shall meet in public sessions at such times as it deems necessary, but at least once each calendar year.
   (d)   Any guidelines, approvals, or denials issued by the Memorial Committee shall be subject to review by the Village Council.
