143.04 DIRECT DEPOSIT.
   (a)   The compensation of any employee paid by the Village of New London shall, upon the written authorization of the employee, be paid by direct deposit. Such authorization shall include the designation of a financial institution equipped to accept direct deposits and the number of the account into which the deposit is to be made. The authorization shall remain in effect until withdrawn in writing by the employee or until dishonored by the financial institution. The Village
shall bear any service charges or fees relating thereto.
   (b)   Effective from and after January 1, 2019, all employees shall provide necessary written authorization to implement direct deposit of their compensation as authorized by paragraph “(A)”. In the event that, for any reason, an employee fails to comply with this requirement, the Fiscal Officer is authorized and directed to make appropriate arrangement for the deposit of such compensation with a financial institution of the fiscal officer’s choosing, into an account which the employee may access; and any expenses beyond those normally incurred by the Village and related thereto shall be assessed against the employee’s compensation.
