Each user shall pay for water based on the amount as follows:
(a) (1) Meter Rates.
WATER SERVICE WITHIN THE VILLAGE LIMITS For up to the first 2,000 gallons $23.52 per month (minimum bill) For the next 6,000 gallons $ 4.58 per 1,000 gallons For all water over 8,000 gallons $ 3.44 per 1,000 gallons Each user shall pay a minimum charge of $23.52 per month. WATER SERVICE OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE LIMITS For up to the first 2,000 gallons $ 29.41 per month (minimum bill) For the next 6,000 gallons $ 5.73 per 1,000 gallons For all water over 8,000 gallons $ 4.29 per 1,000 gallons Each user shall pay a minimum charge of $29.41 per month. Hauled Water Rate shall be $6.69 per 1,000 gallons. That the water rates being assessed against the Rural Lorain County Water Authority and Northern Ohio Rural Water pursuant to the existing water contract shall be set as follows: RURAL LORAIN COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY $2.46 per 1000 gallons first 550,000 gallons per day monthly average $2.39 per 1000 gallons next 50,000 gallons per day monthly average $2.28 per 1000 gallons over 600,000 gallons per day monthly average NORTHERN OHIO RURAL WATER $2.46 per 1000 gallons first 100,000 gallons per day monthly average $2.39 per 1000 gallons next 50,000 gallons per day monthly average $2.28 per 1000 gallons over 150,000 gallons per day monthly average |
(2) Meter Replacement Program Surcharge. In order to provide funding necessary to financially support the replacement of all village-owned water meters throughout the system, a water meter replacement surcharge shall be assessed, in the amount of five dollars ($5.00) per month, for each account, beginning with the first billing cycle in January 1, 2024. Proceeds from this surcharge shall be placed in an appropriate fund and designated for the sole purpose of replacing water meters and associated equipment.
(b) Tap Fees.
(1) Applications for water service shall be filed with the Water Treasurer or Fiscal Officer upon a form to be supplied by the Municipality. The application shall state the name of the applicant and the premises to be served. All applications filed after the commencement of the operation of the water system shall be accompanied by a fee, payable to the Fiscal Officer, for the connection charge. All tap fees must be paid in full before the tap is installed as per the Ohio Revised Code.
(2) Each user, inside the Village of New London, at the time he is connected with the waterworks systems, shall pay a connection charge of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500). Each user outside the Village of New London shall pay a charge of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500). A higher fee will be assessed if the connection is larger than 3/4", based upon the additional cost of materials and labor.
(c) Reconnection Fee. Editor’s Note: Former subsection (c) was repealed by Ordinance 2007-14.
(d) In lieu of the tap-in fees set forth in subsection (b)(2) hereof, a tap-in fee in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500). (Ord. 2023-19. Passed 9-25-23.)
