(A) No person, recklessly or by force, shall resist or interfere with a lawful arrest of himself, herself or another.
(B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. If the offense is committed by an offender who brandishes a deadly weapon or who attempts to gain control of a deadly weapon that is in the possession of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest is a felony of the fifth degree and shall be prosecuted under appropriate state law.
(C) As used in this section,
DEADLY WEAPON has the same meaning as in R.C. 2923.11.
