937.03 RATE ADJUSTMENT FOR FILLING AND/OR REFILLING SWIMMING POOLS.
   (a)   Adjustment. When filling a new pool (or recently purchased used pool), the customer must notify the New Cumberland City Building at least twenty-four hours in advance and request a meter reading before pool filling beings. City employees will return for another meter reading after the pool is filled. The customer is required to provide the water/sewer office with paperwork information on the pool, including, but not limited to, size and estimated gallons required to fill. Provided that the customer is not delinquent on water/sewerage bills, and that the request is made during the billing cycle of which the pool filling occurred, the customer will receive a one-time adjustment of the City sewage rate on that gallonage only. The customer will still be required to pay for all water used, along with sewage costs for anything other than pool usage.
The Chairman of the Water/Sewerage Board or his designee, for good cause shown, may accept the gallonage of the pool filled and verification thereof and may make the adjustment with a meter reading.
   (b)   Refilling or Adding Water to Existing Pool. When adding water to an existing pool or refilling after repairs, the customer is responsible for both water and sewerage rates. No adjustments will be made.
   (c)   Fire Department Usage. Should any Fire Department pump water from any customer’s pool during an emergency situation, the City will replace that water free of charge.
   (d)   Unauthorized Pool Fillings. No person shall use City fire hydrants, holding tanks, or other unmetered lines for filling a swimming pool without water being measured by the City, or without prior City approval. (Ord. 02-003.)
