(a) The Division of Fire shall employ a sufficient number of firefighters and emergency medical technicians to provide adequate firefighting and pre-hospital emergency medical operations as established by the rules and regulations of the Division pursuant to Section 238.02.
(b) The responsibilities of the Division are:
(1) Prevention, control, and extinguishment of fires in the Municipality, and in other areas in accordance with any contract or agreement entered into by the Municipality, and the protection of life and property endangered by fire or natural disaster; and
(2) Operation of a pre-hospital emergency medical service and associated equipment, and the provisions of the service normally associated with emergency ambulance operations.
